Dr. Carswell is an exceedingly skilled, experienced, and compassionate podiatric physician. His method to podiatric medicine is to bring simplicity to the problems his patients encounter by delivering them with information and explanations that allow them to be active participants in their care. He advocates for patient-centered care and strives to create a solid doctor-patient relationship built on confidence, transparency, and evidence-based medicine. He leaves patients at-ease, empowered, and assured in their treatment.
Dr. Carswell completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Arizona, majoring in physiology and minoring in philosophy. He completed his four-year doctoral degree at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California.
Dr. Carswell then completed a prestigious Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency with an added credential in Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery (PMSR/RRA) at Stony Brook University Hospital in Long Island, New York. Dr. Carswell trained under leading experts in foot and ankle surgery and served as chief resident in his final year of residency. As a result of his training, Dr. Carswell is well-versed and extremely skilled in the treatment of areas including, but not limited to, limb salvage, diabetic foot care, trauma, fracture management, sports medicine, arthritides, dermatology, laser therapy, bunions, tendinopathy, and podiatric surgery.
In his free time, Dr. Carswell enjoys chess, reading, and basketball. He looks forward to helping you achieve your optimal foot and ankle health.
